Reflect Your Future
Die Performance von Karl-Heinz Blomann und Richard Ortmann thematisiert den Wandel von der Materialität zur Virtualität. Dieser zeigt sich in der Welt von Bild und Ton als Ablösung des Analogen hin zum Digitalen und im Ruhrgebiet als Transformation der Arbeitsfelder in Bergbau und Stahlerzeugung hin zu den sog. Creative Industries und dem Dienstleistungssektor.
Die Künstler machen diese parallelen Entwicklungen zum Gegenstand ihrer Performance.
Sie setzen die Ablösung analoger Klänge zu virtuellen Sounds in Beziehung zu historischen Markern der Kohleförderung im Ruhrgebiet und nehmen die akustischen Zeugnisse und Materialien aus der Geschichte des Ruhrbergbaus, um Vergangenheit und Zukunft von Analogem und Digitalem akustisch erfahrbar zu machen.
Mit Original-Klängen und zeitgeschichtlichen O-Tönen aus diversen Archiven erzeugen Blomann und Ortmann in ihrer Performance durch elektronische Klangumformung live einen musikalisch-akustischen/akusmatischen Stream in die virtuelle Welt - eine Reise in die offene Zukunft.
In einer Fortführung wird das politische Bedeutungsfeld um Orte wie Katowice (Polen), Leeds (Kellingley, "Big K" , England) und Lille (Frankreich, in der alten Kohleregion Nord-Pas de Calais) erweitert.
Der Klang der Zeit aus vier Epochen des Ruhrkohle-Bergbaus:
- I: 1956 Die Kohle boomt: Höchste Fördermenge
- II: 1960 Arbeitskräftemangel und Einwanderung
- III: 1980 Demonstrationen gegen Zechenschließung nicht nur in D, auch in GB, B und F
- IV: 2018 Ende der Kohleförderung und Industrie 4.0
Bergbau-Geräusche, Bergmann-Chöre, Politiker- und Radio-Statements, Ereignisse und Katastrophen, Demonstrationen (mit türkischer Stimmen)
Analoges Tonband der 1960er Jahre als O-Ton und dessen Transformation und Transport von Tönen von analog zu digital

The performance of Karl-Heinz Blomann and Richard Ortmann discusses the change from materiality to virtuality. This is reflected in the world of sound and vision as the detachment of the analogue towards the digital and in the Ruhr area as a transformation of the working fields in mining and steel production towards the so-called creative industries and the service sector. The artists choose these parallel developments as subject of their performance. They set the replacement of analogue sounds by virtual sounds in relation to historical markers of coal production in the Ruhr area and take the acoustic testimonies and materials from the history of the Ruhr mining industry to make the past and future of analogue and digital audible. Blomann and Ortmann create a musical-acoustic / acousmatic stream in the virtual world with their original sounds and contemporary O-tones from various archives. A journey into the open future.
